Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Dota2Council at dota2council.com (the “Service”), operated by the Dota2Council team. By signing in, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

1. What the Service is

Dota2Council reviews your public Dota 2 match history and produces coaching verdicts written in the voice of three fictional hero personas. Verdicts are opinions generated automatically from match data. They are provided for entertainment and self-improvement, and they can be wrong. Use your own judgment.

The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation.

2. Your account

You sign in with your Steam account. We never see your Steam password. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age for online services in your country, if higher) to use the Service, and you are responsible for activity that happens under your session.

The Service reads only match data that Steam and Dota 2 make public. If you have “Expose Public Match Data” turned off in Dota 2, parts of the Service will not work for you.

3. Free tier and Council Plus

The free tier includes up to 3 quick judgments per day. Council Plus is a monthly subscription that removes that limit and adds Pro replay reviews. Current prices are shown on the pricing page at checkout.

Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your account page; Plus stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again.

Who sells Council Plus. Council Plus is sold through Link, a service of Stripe. Stripe (Stripe Payments Company or Stripe Technology Europe, Limited, depending on where you are) is the merchant of record for the purchase: it charges your card, applies and remits any VAT or sales tax due in your country, sends the receipt and invoice, and shows the charge on your statement as “LINK.COM*” followed by our name. Link’s purchase terms apply to the payment itself; these terms govern the Service. We never see or store your card details. Prices on the pricing page can be shown and paid in your local currency at checkout.

Refunds. Because verdicts are delivered immediately, payments are generally non-refundable. If something went wrong — you were charged twice, or the Service was unavailable for a substantial part of your billing period — write to support@dota2council.com and we will sort it out. You can also raise payment questions with Link support from your receipt. Nothing here limits refund or withdrawal rights you have under local consumer law.

We may change prices or what each tier includes. Price changes to an existing subscription take effect at your next renewal, and we will tell you in advance.

4. Fair use

You agree not to:

• use scripts or automation to request verdicts, share accounts, or otherwise work around the free tier limits;
• attempt to access other people’s accounts or data, or probe the Service for vulnerabilities;
• resell or bulk-redistribute verdicts as a product of your own;
• use the Service for anything unlawful.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If a paid account is closed for abuse, no refund is owed for the remaining period.

5. Sharing verdicts

When you press “Share” on a verdict, the Service creates a public page anyone with the link can open. It shows the verdict, the hero, the score and your Steam display name. Share links stay public until you ask us to remove them (email support@dota2council.com with the link).

6. Intellectual property

Dota 2, the Dota 2 logo, hero names, hero likenesses and hero artwork are trademarks and/or copyrights of Valve Corporation and are used here for identification only. The three Council personas are fictional characterisations based on Valve’s heroes; they are not statements by Valve.

The Service’s own name, design, text and code belong to the Dota2Council team. Verdicts written about your matches are yours to share and quote.

7. No warranty; limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is”. It depends on third-party data sources that may be slow, incomplete or unavailable, and we cannot promise a replay will always be reviewable. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Dota2Council team is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

8. Changes and termination

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will show a notice in the Service or email you (if you have given us an address) before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by writing to us.

9. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of residence, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in the country where you live.
